CHRISTMASTIME IS NEAR.

It's so magical at our apartment! We spent the weekend decorating both the inside and out. Christmas music streaming and the two best roommates by my side.

Twinkling lights wrap around the railings of our thirty seven steps and outline the porch, guiding the way to our shining tree as it stands perfectly in the middle window.

It is a sight to see! Warms the heart and adds a bit of sparkle to my eyes. The start to a very merry Christmas.

Painting a City Canvas

"Our city is a canvas." That is the principle that guides MuralWorks as they add color to the Cincinnati skyline. The program hires local teens to work with professional artists as they touch their brush to our city walls.

I was lucky enough to watch this mural go up on the corner of Court and Walnut- where I chance a lunch break on the days I have time. Last year I was enamored with the Singing Mural behind Music Hall. On my way home everyday I see the progress of the Kroger Mural on Central Parkway.

What a magically simple way to continue adding a layer of character to our ever-beautiful Queen City. Well done, Art Works. Thank you for seeing our canvas.

A Magical Makeover

The magical world of a move can come with a few hefty price tags. So it's wise to cut costs everywhere possible.

Thus I present: the magical makeover! From chair on the left (a hand me down from the neighbors) to the very Annie chair on the right: it took a can of white spray paint, a clearance patterned fabric, staples and a staple gun, and a little extra stuffing from the basement. What do you think!?

Touch of magic.

Excuse my hiatus from the magic, I assure you I have been enjoying plenty of it! We moved into a fairy tale about a month ago, literally.

This gem has quickly taken a hold on my heart. Built in 1890, I can almost feel all the stories and lives that this home has touched. The bugs are brightly patterned and adorable little lizards scamper across our stairwell. The weather is always more beautiful on our rooftop deck.

As you can see there has been a lot of magic to keep up with, but I'm back. And desperate to hear your good news.

Seven weeks.

As you may know, I graduated from college seven weeks ago. I started a new job five weeks ago. I turned twenty two three weeks ago. I signed the lease on a new apartment two weeks ago. I said goodbye to a very loved friend one week ago. And today, it hit me.

I am an adult. This is the start of the rest of my life.

In seven weeks I not only opened a new chapter in my own fairy tale, I have narrated a good couple pages. I transitioned from a child to a full-fledged, fully functioning (magic-loving) adult.

Here's to the end of an era.
